The redesign of the Amtrak Careers website was a culmination of all my skills – from initial analysis of what we were missing and what could be added to fill knowledge gaps, to design of mockups and site hierarchy, and culminating in development of the site in a Content Management System. Before implementation everything was tested for functionality and ease of use. I created the site design, used many of the photos I had captured of employees for previous projects, rewrote older content, and crafted new content to fill found gaps. In partnership with Mitch Tonak of SAP, the two of us created a workable site from my plans and gathered assets.
As part of any project, the key is to be adaptable. In some cases not everything conformed well to the chosen Content Management System, and so in those cases we modified the concept of the initial mockup to fit the limitations of the system.
