Shortly after the Maidan Revolution in Kyiv in 2014, I traveled to Ukraine on a mission to document the remains of a railroad in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. However, I happened to fall in love with the gorgeous city of Kyiv, and attempted to capture both its architectural beauty, and the reminder of the massacre that had happened only months before. At the time of my visit, the Maidan was still blocked off with tires and full of encamped protesters, all in front of the burnt out hulk of the Trade Unions building.
